National Anzac Centre receives award at the WA Tourism Awards

The City of Albany took out two awards at the Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards at the weekend. The awards showcase the best in the industry and highlight the extraordinary tourism experiences Western Australia has to offer.

The City won gold for the Local Government Award for Tourism for a second successive year, and the National Anzac Centre won bronze for Cultural Tourism. It capped off a very successful night for the Great Southern region, which won multiple awards.

Deputy Mayor Greg Stocks said the City’s awards reflected the efforts of its dedicated staff and volunteers.

“We are proud that the tourism industry has acknowledged the work the City of Albany has accomplished over the past year and we will continue to put an increased emphasis on destination marketing, tourism and visitor services,” Cr Stocks said.

“I would also like to congratulate The Lake House Denmark, Denmark Ocean Beach Holiday Park, The Beach House at Bayside, Hideaway Haven and Cape Howe Cottages for their outstanding achievements at the Tourism Awards as well.”
