As part of the 100th anniversary commemorations of the ANZAC landing at Gallipoli 1915 a photograph portrait exhibition of Victoria Cross recipients has been travelling throughout Australia since 2015.
Consisting of framed portrait’s incorporating a photograph and biography of the recipient, and their citation, the exhibition will be shown in four locations throughout Western Australia. The National Anzac Centre is fortunate enough to host the exhibition for one week only in the Princess Royal Fortress Barracks Main Gallery.
In addition to the Australian leg the exhibition will also visit some 100 locations in New Zealand with four Victoria Cross recipients that were awarded posthumously in Papua New Guinea (PNG) being exhibited in Port Moresby & Lae. When the Australian exhibition has been completed the portraits of the ten (10) Anzac Victoria Cross recipients (nine Australian & one New Zealander) will be taken to Turkey for exhibition at the Naval Museum at Canakkale.
